We go to Sage twice a year. It is expensive but always excellent. Last night Ann took me for Father's Day. There are two floors for dining and a very nice rooftop bar. We sat on 1st floor with 13 other tables. They had 10 servers, so excellent service. We had one grilled corn soup (see menu), a feast for the eye and mouth. For main course we both had sea bass. It was outstanding. A very nice, thick, snow-white, flaky piece, served with lots of oven-roasted yucca cubes. It looked great and tasted even better. With 2 drinks each the total bill was $230, including tip. There is one negative thing I need to mention. Truth in advertising. For industrial foods the FDA and USDA's law requires food ingredients on the label to be listed in decreasing order of weight. Restaurants do not fall under those requirements. For the sea bass dish the menu card states: sea bass, mango, peppers, red onion and citrus beurre blanc over roasted yucca. However, the dish had one nice piece of fish, surrounded by a full plate of (cheap) yucca pieces and miniscule amounts of (expensive) mango, peppers, onion and butter sauce. Please Sage confirm to Truth in Advertising.

We celebrated my wife's Birthday Dinner there and it did not disappoint. Our server, Marley, was very nice, knowledgeable, and attentive. The atmosphere & decor are beautiful. The food was absolutely delicious. You must try the Zucchini Flower goat cheese. It was truly exquisite! Wonderful experience and looking forward to coming back.

Always a special place. The ambiance is quiet and sophisticated. The unique history of the building adds to the experience. The menu is seasonal and always includes plenty of options for everyone. You can't go wrong with a single thing on the menu. If you have any questions, get the server's opinion - they're extremely knowledgeable and will help you navigate your options. The portions are large enough to share around and try. The cocktails and mocktails are beyond impressive. If you get a chance, you must stop on the roof for one before or after your meal. Also, I'm not a huge dessert fan, but it's a must here... They are undeniable masterpieces!

Our experience here was nothing short of incredible. We went with another couple for a dinner and were amazed at how wonderful the waitstaff was. Tim the server and the rest of the staff pulled out all the stops to make sure we had an awesome experience and meal. Tim’s recommendations for pre-dinner drinks, appetizers, wine, and the meal were spot on and perfectly paired. His personality, attentiveness, and overall demeanor was excellent. We would 100% recommend anyone to go here for a nice evening.

One of my most favorite hidden gems in Sarasota. Chef is amazing. He creates every dish with passion, pride and purpose. As someone with extensive dietary restrictions, I feel so at ease when I’m here knowing there are so many choices on the menu for me and if I see something I want to try, chef will do his best to accommodate my needs. Always using the highest quality of ingredients. Every plate designed to satisfy both your palate and esthetics. True works of art. A great spot for celebrating special occasions or just dressing up and enjoying a night out! Highly recommend ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Upscale with a Franchise Feel. The service is great and very attentive. Almost seems as if they can read your mind. The atmosphere and the price as well is upscale. The food, however, seems to try to emulate haute couture while avoiding flavor. It is not that you paid $40 for a plate of flavorless cream of wheat - the price is part of the bargain but tasteless food is not. With so many other options in Sarasota, I recommend you try another locale.

I dined here with my parents and thoroughly enjoyed everything. our server, Marley, informed us that the menu had just been changed, as it is a seasonal menu and was enthusiastic about the options. As a starting cocktail I tried the Queen's Coupe - Empress 1908 gin, watermelon, basil, lavender, chareau, citric acid, & basil "air". It was absolutely lovely. For starters we all shared the Vidalia Onion Tart (very tasty, but the pastry didn't taste super fresh), the herbed goat cheese zucchini flowers (delicious), and the best - Pink Garlic Croquettes with Ramp Pesto & Crispy Shallots. The croquettes were hot and crispy, with a soft and flavorful inside with the perfect hint of spice. These were so good, but I wish more than 3 came on the plate - so we got 2 more orders to go at the end of the meal! For our mains, my father got the seabass with mango peppers red onion and oven roasted yucca. It was quite a small piece of fish - but my father raved about it. He did say the yucca underneath was a bit dry. I chose the honey ginger chicken with indonesian fried rice, peppers and cucumbers and I was super happy with the combination of flavors - it is a VERY well thought out dish. My mother is a vegetarian - and although there was an option on the menu, it didn't quite speak to her. The chef was kind enough to make a simple tagliatelle with a scampi sauce and tomatoes. She also was happy with her choice. The desserts really topped this meal off. The strawberry dessert was tasty, but I recommend the Island Mango Tango - coconut mousse with white wine compressed mango, passion fruit glee, and madagascan vanilla ice cream. It was top notch and the presentations were lovely. This entire meal was very enjoyable, especially paired with the bottle of red wine from Banfi we chose. However, 2 "small" details really put a damper on the dining experience. We were still in the middle of our desserts - literally spoon in mouth, dish not even close to being finished - with the bill was placed on our table. We did not ask for it, it was not super late, and it was weird to have it given to us while we were still eating. What if we wanted after dinner cocktails? The second - and I feel I should have called attention to this but my mother insisted we didnt - is that they charged us the full price for the tagliatelle dish with lobster bolognese on the menu ($42!) rather than giving any price adjustment for just tagliatelle and scampi. Now, I understand making food accommodations can be frustrating for the chef, kitchen, and wait staff - but the food cost for the dish my mother received versus the one listed on the menu with fish has a VERY clear difference. I myself own a restaurant and I always encourage customers to voice their concerns if there is an issue with the bill. My parents were just a bit embarrassed so we said nothing. However, I feel like this is an error on the part of the waitstaff who rang up the order. That price adjustment should have been done when the order was sent, or if there was no price adjustment that should have been communicated to set our expectations. Regardless, this is a place I would recommend to friends and I will happily return to.
